Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective October 23, 2026. This policy explains how payments, order changes, cancellations and product concerns are reviewed at Maison du Pain.
Completed and collected orders
Artisan bread, pastries and other freshly prepared bakery products are made for consumption and may be prepared or customized according to a customer's specific request. Once an order has been completed and collected, it is generally not eligible for a change-of-mind refund. If an item appears incorrect, damaged or different from the details confirmed for the order, contact us promptly with a description of the concern. We will review the information and consider an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances and applicable law. Nothing in this policy removes any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Order adjustments
Requests to change a bread variety, pastry selection, quantity, customization, packaging or collection date should be submitted as early as possible. Whether a change can be accommodated depends on the preparation stage, ingredient requirements, production schedule and available capacity. Some changes may require a revised quote or additional payment, which will be discussed before proceeding. We cannot guarantee that requested changes can be made after preparation has begun or an order has been finalized. If a concern arises with an order, please provide the relevant details and explain the outcome you expected so we can assess the situation fairly.
Prepaid orders and deposits
- Any deposit or advance payment is applied according to the order terms confirmed when the order is accepted.
- Rescheduling depends on preparation progress, the requested new date and whether the revised arrangements can be accommodated.
- Late cancellations or missed collections may result in some or all of a payment being retained where permitted by the agreed terms and applicable law, particularly when products have already been prepared or customized.
- Refund eligibility, payment deadlines and any cancellation conditions should be confirmed directly with the bakery before the order is finalized.
Bakery products and quality concerns
Because bread, pastries and other baked goods are food products with varying shelf lives, storage, transport and handling after collection can affect their condition and freshness. Please follow any storage or serving guidance provided with your order. If you believe an item was supplied incorrectly or has a quality issue that was present at collection, contact us as soon as reasonably possible and explain the concern. Where helpful, include photographs and the relevant order details. We will review the available information and determine whether a correction, replacement or refund is appropriate under the circumstances. Products that have been consumed, improperly stored or damaged after collection may be more difficult to assess, but every report will be considered on its specific facts and applicable legal requirements.
How to request help
Call +1 (415) 487-2600 or email [email protected] with your order date, product selection, collection details and a clear description of the issue. If requesting a cancellation or amendment, include the requested change and contact us before the scheduled collection whenever possible. We may ask for additional information to identify the order and review the request. Any approved refund will be handled using an appropriate payment method and within the timeframe applicable to the transaction.
